Advanced Breast Implant Technology Designed Around Natural Movement
Motiva® breast implants combine advanced implant technology with a focus on natural movement, personalised outcomes and patient safety. Developed by Establishment Labs®, the Motiva range offers breast implant options designed to meet different aesthetic and reconstructive needs while giving surgeons greater flexibility when planning breast procedures.
The portfolio includes Motiva® Round, Motiva Ergonomix® and the next-generation Ergonomix2®, with each implant incorporating specific technologies designed to influence its shape, feel, movement and performance.

New Approach To breast Implants design
Traditional breast implants are designed around a predetermined shape. Motiva has placed greater emphasis on how an implant interacts with the body and moves with changes in position. Motiva Ergonomix®, for example, incorporates ProgressiveGel Ultima®, a viscoelastic gel designed to respond to body position. It maintains a round appearance when lying down and takes on a more anatomical, teardrop-like profile when standing, supporting a more natural dynamic appearance. This focus on natural dynamics forms an important part of the Motiva approach to breast implant design.
One Treatment, Different Designs
Motiva provides different implant designs to accommodate different aesthetic preferences and surgical considerations.
Motiva Round
Motiva Round is designed to provide balanced softness and firmness with a fuller, rounder appearance and increased upper-pole fullness. It is filled with ProgressiveGel Plus® and combines the gel with Motiva's implant technologies, including TrueMonobloc®, BluSeal® and SmoothSilk®/SilkSurface®.
Motiva Ergonomix
Ergonomix is designed to mimic the look, feel and movement of natural breast tissue. Its ProgressiveGel Ultima® technology allows the implant to adapt its profile according to body position, making it an option for patients seeking a more natural-looking and dynamic result.
Motiva Ergonomix2
Ergonomix2 represents a newer generation of Motiva implant technology, combining ProgressiveGel Ultima®, Motiva SuperSilicones®, TrueMonobloc+®, BluSeal+® and SmoothSilk®/SilkSurface®. The design focuses on enhanced flexibility, ergonomics and adaptability.
Mia Femtech
Mia Femtech is a minimally invasive breast enhancement approach designed to achieve a natural-looking increase in breast volume with a less invasive procedure. The system combines Motiva implant technology with a specialised surgical approach, using a smaller incision and aiming to preserve the natural appearance and movement of the breast. It provides an alternative approach for patients seeking subtle breast enhancement while maintaining a natural result.
The Impact of Motiva
Motiva's approach to breast implant technology places emphasis on natural movement, personalised breast enhancement and patient experience. By combining advanced implant materials, smooth-surface technology and different implant designs, the portfolio gives surgeons greater flexibility when selecting an option suited to each patient's anatomy and aesthetic goals.
Supporting Personalised Breast Augmentation
Motiva's approach is based on giving surgeons a range of implant options rather than applying a single design to every patient. Implant selection can take into consideration factors such as body proportions, anatomy, desired breast appearance and the patient's individual goals.
The Motiva portfolio also includes solutions and approaches such as Motiva MinimalScar® and MotivaHybrid®, providing additional options that surgeons can consider when planning appropriate procedures.
Ultimately, implant selection is a clinical decision. A qualified plastic surgeon should assess each patient individually and determine the most appropriate implant type and treatment approach.
Technologies Used in Motiva Implants
SmoothSilk® / SilkSurface®
SmoothSilk®/SilkSurface® is an advanced smooth implant surface designed with a controlled and uniform structure. Motiva describes the technology as supporting biocompatibility and limiting factors associated with bacterial adhesion and inflammatory response.
ProgressiveGel Ultima®
ProgressiveGel Ultima® is a proprietary viscoelastic silicone gel used in the Ergonomix range. Its rheological properties are designed to support softness, elasticity and adaptation to movement, contributing to the dynamic behaviour of the implant.
RFID-Enabled Technology
Selected Motiva implants can incorporate Qid®, a passive, battery-free RFID technology that stores implant identification information. The technology allows healthcare professionals to access implant information using an external reader after surgery.
BluSeal®
BluSeal® is a visible barrier layer within the implant. Its blue colour allows the surgeon to visually inspect the barrier before placement, providing an additional quality-control feature.
TrueMonobloc®
TrueMonobloc® links the implant's shell, gel and patch components into an integrated structure. This technology is designed to provide flexibility and structural performance while supporting implant handling during placement.
